Overview
The area has the potential for significant further growth and to delivery up to 4,000 new jobs and 8,000 new homes and 15,000 new homes and 8,000 new jobs could be delivered if the DLR was extended. To deliver wider regeneration benefits, a range of interventions are needed to support and catalyse growth. These includes investment in public transport and walking and cycling connections, intensification of employment areas to enable a range of new jobs and workspaces, better use of open spaces, revitalisation of town centres and high streets, and careful planning of social infrastructure and public spaces. The concept of Good Growth ensures that the benefit of growth is inclusive and provides opportunities for both new and existing communities.
