Overview
An under-used building in Tower Hamlets has been identified for adaptive reuse. This includes 9,000 m2 (96,000 sq ft) of space to re-activate and unlock social, economic and community benefits. The space will have the means and facilities to support local fashion and garment businesses at different stages of their life to allow them to grow, remain and thrive in Tower Hamlets. The site could generate estimated 620 new jobs. The vision includes:

• Adaptive reuse of building to provide 70,000 sq ft of:
  • Fashion manufacturing spaces for SMEs
  • Micro-factory and manufacturing hub
  • Recycling and upcycling factory (inc storage)
  • Public-facing uses and amenity
• Proposed new public realm and pedestrian bridge
• Proposed new buildings to provide additional 26,000 sq ft of Fashion manufacturing spaces for SMEs, public-facing uses and amenity
• Long-term opportunity sites for intensification (up to additional 100,000 sq ft).
